Weird thoughts becuase of anxiety disorder? |
Ever since i found out i had anxeity disorder i got derealization and i get thoughts like "why were we created in earth" "when will i die" "why do i feel so different" is this normal?? i feel my life has totaly change ... i can live a normal life but It feels very uncomfterble with derealization and i think those thoughts are called depersonalization helpp please I'm a life long victim too. Do you have other thoughts that are disturbing to you? If you have other thoughts too and/or the ones you have feel disturbing and intrusive, then see if your doctor can prescribe an SSRI's to address your anxiety. Begining a low dose regimen will eleviate these thoughts. No need to suffer through it when there are harmless meds to help you. Just ask. The symptoms of derealization and depersonalization occur due to changes in the levels of chemicals in the blood which alter the perceptions of reality in such a way as to adjust the sufferers perception of themselves and the world around them. These thoughts disappear when the anxiety disorder is eliminated. If in fact you are correctly diagnosed, derealization and depersonalization can be very disturbing symptoms of anxiety, in more severe cases, they can cause the sufferer to feel frightened and confused, however, both are harmless and transient. If you don't have other thoughts, or the ones you have don't bother you, then don't worry. If they do, ask your doctor to prescribe an anti anxiety medication. I looked up other questions here and found a lot of people have the same concerns as you. I will give you a link and you'll read a bunch of answerers talking about their similar experiences. Here it is, I think it will help you: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... And in case you want to see many more, here's a bunch more. I hope it helps you to see a lot of people with similar thoughts and what's worked for them: http://answers.yahoo.com/search/search_r... You have a lot of answerers who obviously have never had anxiety or know anything about it. They thing it's in your control and you should just stop it. I even got a thumbs down from one, but I promise you if you look at the people who've had anxiety (that's why I linked you with all those others with similar situations), you'll see that it is truly treatable and there is no need to feel bad. Good luck to you. ;o) all these thoughts you are getting are just that "thoughts" it is because you are anxious that this happens=can you go anywhere to take a course on how to handle your anxiety that would be of use to you? Find a therapy group and get all the toxins out of your mind. You are experiencing reflection, part of becoming a whole person. It is a very interesting part of our journey through life and to have a chance to do it if fortunate. Don't talk to anyone you know about your new found interest. They won't be interested. You will have to find those on the same path. Anxiety disorder is a catch-all phrase for what they can't do anything about. You need a sense of accomplishment and recognition. Go make yourself a great life doing what pleases you. Why would the sudden realization that what you have has a label lead you to new questions? I think some therapist is feeding you this crap and you are freaking out about it. You haven't changed, why should you completely upheave your perspective on life just because someone threw a label at you. You're trying to label something that doesn't need a label. If you're thoughts are creating anxiety, you are simply having anxious thoughts or thinking. If your just pondering the questions of life, that is normal. Everyone does it from time to time. More than likely, you found out that you have an anxiety disorder and now your brain is working on overtime trying to figure it all out. Its all new to you. It can be a bit scary to be diagnosed with a mental health condition. You feel so different now because someone gave you a label and made it real to you in doing that. It is VERY common for people to go a little bananas after being diagnosed with a mental health condition. In general, people don't like labels like those and it can make us buggy. For this reason, many therapists try to avoid telling their clients the "label". I had this too when I suffered from anxiety. Weird thoughts about the meanings of everythign which before would not have bothered you. I dont know why it happens, but it happened to me. I think personally its because when you suffer from anxiety you generally focus more inwards than outwards, you become aware more of what your body is feeling - often thinking that an innocent heartbat could be anxiety coming on etc. It will subside trust me, when I was at my lowest things were really weird but since starting an SSRI called Fluoxetine on a small dose (20mg daily) its stopped. Have also done Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and read some self help books. find a new hobby that you can absorb yourself in, it'll make you stop thinking so much. Anxiety is a pain but it is 100% treatable so hang in there buddy |
