Seeking help for Social Anxiety Disorder?



Well, I am near 100% positive I have Social Anxiety Disorder. I have done a fair amount of research and I have almost all of the symptoms mentioned. My question is, how do I get help? As in find a doctor that will diagnose me with it and follow up with some sort of treatment or medicine?

go to your primary care physician... He/she will give you a prescription to something that can help you deal with this situation. tell the doc everything you are dealing with, and they might give you samples to see what works for you...

see a mental health counselor, I HAVE IT ,AND THAT'S WHO I see HE OR SHE CAN GIVE YOU MEDICINE ZOLOFT HELPS ME.
There are lots of psychiatrist who specialize in treating social anxiety, be sure to find one who offers cognitive behavior therapy.
You need to go to a mental health professional that you trust and respect. It is impossible to self-diagnose a mental disorder.
Basic knowledge of psychology and ten years of being diagnosed differently by different doctors.
