What is the Causes of Anxiety and panic Attacks and Disorders ?

The main cause for anxiety attacks today are withdrawal from addictions. Some others could be alcohol, thyroid, heredity and chemical imbalances just to name a few. Knowing what may cause your anxiety disorder makes it easier to prevent any type of anxiety attack from taking place.

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced... you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction... There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to....

The general consensus among the medical community is that panic attacks stem from other phobias, or fears, which in turn triggers a panic attack upon exposure to these fears.

If a person suffers from acrophobia, or fear of heights, for instance, upon flying in an airplane, this phobia may be triggered, causing the person to enter a panicked state and, hence, have a panic attack.

In my mind anxiety is brought on by a lack of oxygen to the brain which is caused by shallow breathing. Without even realising it I am quite a shallow breather which makes me prone to anxiety. I usually start freaking out a little (for no reason at all - i just get anxious sometimes!) , and it gradually gets worse. I find if i slow down my breathing then i'm 100% fine.

I think other things that can cause anxiety are recreational drugs, caffeine, stress (of course!!!), guilt, being extra worried about health and things such as being bullied as a child and never getting over it.

Anxiety and Panic Disorders are caused by a neurological dysfunction in the body's natural "Fight or Flight" response.

With me it is over thinking and over worrying myself about things~alcohol or drugs can trigger this also (apart from something like valium that can help).
