If social anxiety is a considered a mental disorder, why isn't being gay considered a disorder? |
If social anxiety is a considered a mental disorder, why isn't being gay considered a disorder? It used to be considered a sociopathic personality disorder. In fact, they used to undergo, horrible "treatment" for this disorder. In the 1950's, a Dr. did some experiments and found that gay men were as psychologically healthy as straight men. "This work led the American Psychiatric Association to remove homosexuality from the DSM in 1973." Read the web page below for more information. some people are gay for different reasons..for example..i have a gay friend who used to date girls..too much drama..so he turned gay..i have another friend who claims he was born gay..and never had been attracted to girls..and some guys just like to experiment with guys when they get drunk and wake up with a condom in their *** Everyone has soi disant sexual preferences. It is actually called a sin, and not a disorder. Social anxiety interferes with a person's ability to live a healthy, productive life. Being gay doesn't. That is the difference. Why is social anxiety a disorder? Mankind is the most devious beast there is. If you follow the Bible you will see that our Creator considers homosexuality to be sinful. |
