Could this be an anxiety disorder?

A few months ago my doctor thought I had depression/anxiety and put me on Prozac, but it made me worse so I stopped taking it.

The past week I've been feeling like I just need to like, turn off my brain and stop thinking because I can't get thoughts out of my head. It's really stressing me out. I would really like to go see a psychologist or psychiatrist about this because I really think there's something wrong with me and plus I just need someone to talk to about all these thoughts in my head.

Anyone have any ideas of what this might be, or have experienced it yourself? Thanks in advance.

Obsessive thinking could definitely be a sign of an anxiety disorder. Do some reading about "automatic negative thoughts" (ANTs) and see if that is what you have. This is the internal dialogue in your head that tells you things are always going to go wrong. You can, over time learn to stop these thoughts. It takes discipline and repetition, but if it is a new problem, shouldn't be too hard. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can teach you how to control these thoughts and learn to ignore them until they get sick of talking and go away.
