Have you had a child who grew out of asthma? |
My twins are getting ready to turn five. They were born five weeks early and as a result have asthma. They mainly have attacks when they get colds or are the least bit congested and are on Pulmicort, Singulair daily, and Albuterol(as needed). Their Pediatrician says it is possible for them to grow out of it as their lungs are still maturing. I would appreciate hearing your knowledge about it. Thanks so much! my brother did Yes...my daughter. She grew out of it by the time she was 7. It was kind of amazing actually...she just....stopped having attacks. But she still tried 'faking' them once in a while because she said the medication (theophylline by that time) made her feel 'happy'....kids...gotta love 'em! Yes, my daughter. She was older, about 9 years old. Part on her problem was where we lived, down in a valley that was damp and moldie. She took Singulair, Zytex and had an inhaller to use when needed, After she had some bad attacts, one Doctor asked about where we lived, and the humidity and mold and then suggested we use a humidifier. It helped some, her attacts were less often. We moved to highter ground and after a few months she dosn't take any meds. She hasn't had a attack for a long time.I'm told it affects children differently. There are sites on the web with info you can get, if you want I can look them up and send them to you. Hope this helps. I did. I got reaaly ill at arouns 6 and was given inhaler, all of it. then it went away after a while. My brother did too. you need the following homeopathic medicines I am a child of asthma, I grew out of it. I am 26. My step sons out grew their allergy related asthma. My daughter, now 12, only uses her rescue inhaler on the rarest of ocassions. She used to use her neb (nebulizer) every winter (cold weather makes it all worse) when she got congested cough meds were a waste, neb works much better) but has not used it is almost 2 years. I do encourage her to ride her bicycle when weather permits and she plays soccer and basketball. I also took her to a chiropractor, sometimes if the lungs cannot expand then it could be that a rib is out of place and he would pop it back in) with the chiropractor and exercise, along with Advair, Zyrtec and maxair her lung function improved 30% in 45 days. In September she will have what we think will be her last lung function test. |
