Do any of the Over the Counter Asthma products work? |
I just ran out of the Albuterol I use for my nebulizer and have no more refills. Can't get to the doc until Monday and I really would like to avoid the E.R. Is there anything I can buy at walgreens to get me through the weekend. By the way...I am a 30 yr old female if that makes a diff. If you can still find it (some pharmacies will carry it, some will not- call!) ask for a 'primatene inhaler'- they are OTC epinephrine inhalers. Because they are generally prone to more and sometimes serious side effects, you shouldn't use them often, but as a safety net over the weekend, you should be fine. Nothing works as good as a nebulizer treatment, but they do help somewhat. I have moderate to severe asthma and also wind up in the ER frequently. I just started experimenting with colloidal silver in my nebulizer. I am using a small particle size with only 10 ppm in water. I bought it at a health food grocery store (Sun Harvest). I have been using 1/2 teaspoon in the morning and 1/2 teaspoon in the evening in my nebulizer. I have not used albuterol or my inhaler in 3 weeks and have not had any asthma symptoms! I did a lot of research before doing it, but so far am very impressed with the results. |
