Why do asthma sufferers have to pay for their medication in the UK?

Seems unfair to me for this condition.

It's so unfair. It works out so expensive. I only work part time and I'm going back to University in September but I still will have to pay.

And I can't just buy one, I have to buy a few, because I need one in my hand bag, one at work, one at my mums (she has cats which I'm allergic to). I can't risk not having one.

It's so unfair when you think that diabetics get free medication, as do smokers get their free patches etc.

in the UK people tend not to pay for their medication.

they pay for their prescription, which is a flat rate, regardless of the cost of the medication.

I think its out of order for us to pay for inhalers but if you dont pay you could have an attack and die who would take the blame ?

Im not a sufferer but it does seam a bit tight.

Yes, and it costs 拢7.50 per inhalor.

They don't in Wales.
