Asthma and boot camp!!!! HELP PLEASE!!!?

Ok! This is what happen. I went to marines boot camp last year, and I get sick so went to sick call, the navy doctor said I have asthma not a cold, so I get discharged. I went back home and went to the doctor, I took the PFT and he said I don't have asthma(Anything is good)!!! Can I still going back to the boot camp? I have the paper work from the doctor it can prove everything!!!

my reentry code is RE-3P

I served in the marines 3 years ago and i got medically discharged for being heat intolerant when i'm not heat intolerant.

I got check out and i'm good to go and I even have a 2008 2nd opinion from my 2006 neurology scan i'm in 100% good health, but my reentry code RE-3P is blocking me.

Be careful i got denied by the regular Navy, Marine in 10 mins or less no joke, and the Regular Army.

The only thing that is working for me at the moment is processing with the Army National Guard.

Also how many days did you spend in boot camp this will also affect your ability to join reserves.

I served over 180 days which is when the gov't vests you with your retirement and 401k and all that stuff. I was in boot camp for 8 months total from 01-2005 to 09-2005. I feel your pain we're on the same page here 100%.

If you ARE NOT A NON GLOSSARY PRIOR SERVICE MEMBER you should be able to get in much easier than me.

Also what does it say on your DD214. for example i'll use mine.

DD214 MEMBER - 4
BLOCK # 23 - Type of Separation = Discharged
BLOCK # 24 - Character of Service = Gerneral (UNDER HONERABLE CONDITIONS)
BLOCK # 25 - Seperation Authority = MARCORSEPMAN par 6203.2
BLOCK # 26 - Seperation Code = JFV1
BLOCK #27 - Reentry Code = RE-3P
BLOCK # 28 - Narritive Reason For Seperation = CONDITION NOT A DISABILITY

If you have a RE-4 reentry code note that you are perminatley disqualed from the armed services for life.

HOWEVER a RE-4 code can be accepted in the National Guard as my next door neighbor achieved that and he had his leg broken to the point of pins and screws and he's been in the guard for 2 years now, and now becoming a State Police officer too. So it is possible!

for example my Reentry code RE-3P is acceptable with a medical waiver and a Reentry cod waiver.
Although my medical waiver is what determines if I get accepted or denied.

Contact your recruiter and local congressman if you can't get anywhere at all. ***NOTE*** IF YOU BRING YOUR LOCAL CONGRESSMAN IN WHILE YOUR FILE IS BEING LOOKED AT IT WILL FREEZE YOUR PROCESSING WHILE YOUR FILE IS UNDER GOING INVESTIGATOIN*** that what my recruiter said to me so wait unti you get denied if that is the case before bringing in political personel.

I hope I could help you out!!!!

Your RE-Code is important, but frankly if you were misdiagnosed as having asthma and you have a PFT that says you don't have it, then you have a case to overcome the code regardless. That's assuming that's the only reason you were discharged (medical). If they discharged you for a different reason then that's a different hurdle. You need to take your 214 and all documents regarding your medical condition or lack thereof to a recruiter so they can submit a paper packet on you called a Med Read. If MEPS wants to consider your case then you will get a call back and will either physical, consult, or be required to provide more documentation etc. Good luck

I agree with the first person. Look on your DD 214 and tell us what the code is. If I had to guess, I would say you could go back with a waiver.

GO AWALL

What was the discharge code?
