How many types of asthma are there, and what causes it?

There a few different types, I know that AnswersTV.com has a video channel on it with doctors explaining causes, types, and cures that might help get you the answer your looking for.

The problem is occuring at a cellular level that is hard to view and hard to test for. So we judge by symptoms. How much breathing power do you have? Tends to be inaccurate but you almost always know if you can't breathe. That is asthma. You open your mouth but you can't breathe. Some doctors describe it as an inability to exhale completely which doesn't allow you to take in a fresh breath.
Very frustrating and it's increasing in incidence. Some recent theories focus on our increasingly dirt-free environments. People who are exposed to lots of dust and dirt and bugs and pets when young may have increased immunity when compared to someone who has been in a cleaner environment.
