Did these cats give me asthma?

Been having SO many upper respiratory and ear problems in the past few years. Now, I've got this shortness of breath thing. I wasn't sure if it was the cats since I've had at least one cat a long time. Now, there are three or four around. Do I really have to get rid of the cats?

PS. Don't tell me to see any doctor or allergist. Been there, done that and I don't need to ask on YA if I want to see a doctor you retards!

Cats don't give a person asthma, but they are one animal that many people are allergic to. From what you have said I would say it sounds like the cats could be causing some of your problems. If it was me I would definitely get rid of the cats and than give my house a good cleaning from top to bottom. I work for a pulmonary doctor and he always advises his patients especially the ones with asthma not to have any cats and sometimes other pets as they can make a persons condition worse.

Perhaps your body was able to handle the dander of one cat but not many. If you want to keep all the cats. Vacuum more, change litter more, mop more, dust more, get Febreeze anti allergen spray and spray all over curtains,couch,bedroom,sheets , as soon as you come in from work, wipe counters off, and I hope you are washing your hands as soon as you enter your domicile anyway. Buy a air filter. Do these things or get rid of your cats or use and pay for asthma medication for as long as you have the cats.
