Can you get into the Military if you have asthma? |
If the ashtma is controlled with/without medication. The Medical Corps will determine if asthma is not a hindrance to the rigorous life of a soldier. If you had symptoms past your 13th birthday or have to take daily medication you are a no-go.. Asthma after your 13th birthday is disqualifying for entry into the armed forces. This includes reactive airway disease, exercise-induced bronchospasms and asthmatic bronchitis. No i don't think so. I tried to go to the air force and i got declined because i also have a history of asthma although it no longer has a huge effect on me. If you've had any attacks since the age of 12 then you're PQ'd (permanently disqualified) from all military branches. Talk to a recruiter if you want to know more. Not if you have had any attacks after the age of 12. 20-50% chance |
