Wheezing, no asthma?

Im 20 year old male experiencing some wheezing in my chest. the sound is more like a rattling sound then a whistling sound and it occurs when i breath in and out, but no constantly. first i thought it was a cold but then i had no fever. i feel like a have alot of phlegm and the color is white. i dont have asthma, i have been smoking marijuana for 2 years. i went to the doctor 2 days ago and he did not seem to much concerned, he gave me cough syrup and an inhaler to use for a couple days for my wheezing. he said this can be caused by a chest infection or allergies because i do have them. he did not seem to concerned and i was on my way out in 2 min.he said i could be allergic to the smoke, but can that be possible when i have ben smoking for 2 years. i have been spray painting and sanding down my car in my garage without using a mask (stupid me). so can it be caused by that also?'
its been occuring for about a week thats why it concerns me but its getting lesser but i still wheeze.

You very well could have asthma. Some people are born with it, and others develop it in early adulthood. Maybe something has recently triggered it. It could also be allergies. White phlegm means there is no sign of infection. When you wheeze are you short of breath, mild chest pain or tightness, increased mucus production? Or are you sneezing, itchy neck, coughing? Both are can be seasonal. Asthma can be caused by "triggers". Those triggers could be dust, stress, allergens, or maybe a new onset from your smoke. Either way keep an eye on it! Take your meds!! Wear a mask in the garage and lay off the smoke! Good luck!

could be the paint,to help get garlic oil pills or soft gel take about 5 or 6,in about a half hour it should help,it helps mucus but you have to take it every few hours if it keeps up,the paintinginside and no mask is very bad.

It may not be those things at all. It may be you have a new food allergy. When I found out i was allergic to eggs, Everytime I would eat it I'd cough like crazy, wheeze, and hauk up flew and all that gross stuff. Not instantly of course.
