Does asthma go away and never come back?

Your symptoms may go away, but the condition is always there lurking in the background. You may even be able to stop taking some of your medicines (make sure the doctor is aware and monitoring you), but always keep a rescue inhaler just in case. There are too many people who haven't had attacks in years and then have a major attack out of the blue. This exact thing happened to my co-worker about 6 months ago. He did not have a rescue inhaler because he had not had an attack for 15 years. It almost killed him. Then on the other hand, I know people who had asthma attacks in childhood and never again after they "grew out of it". So, it is possible that it will go away, but there are no guarantees.

A diet rich in fruit, oily fish, nuts & seeds and legumes as well as high fibre wholegrains can help control asthma due to the magnesium, flavnoids and omega 3. The flavnoid quercetin and the vitamin c have been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, therefore possibly preventing the restriction of the airways. This could then reduce the likelihood of an attack and therefore control asthma better.

So, whether asthma actually goes away and never comes back i couldn't say, however there are certainly active things you can follow in your eating patterns to prevent the possibility of attacks in the future.

wow love the answers. Most of them are kinda correct in there own way. Generally speaking asthma is a lifetime disease. What can happen though deppending on how bad it is and how its treated and lifestyle and so on you can lesson the effect it haves on you as you grow up. For myself, my asthma has been fairly controlled from when i was 10ish until i was 24 when i started to get effect me again. Everyone is different and it will never be completely gone.

No, usually, if you have asthma, you have it for life. Your symptoms may lessen but you will still have asthma.
