If you're physically fit but always short of breath, is it a sign of asthma

If you're physically fit but always short of breath, is it a sign of asthma

Being short of breath could be a symptom of anxiety. In those who have this, they tend to breathe only thru the upper part of their lungs. A person needs to learn to breathe thru upper and lower lungs. Try lying flat on your back, one hand on your abdomen. Breathe deeply. If you are breathing correctly, your abdomen will rise and fall with each breath. You can train yourself to breathe corrrectly by practicing each day. A sign of asthmatic breathing is that it is hard to breathe out, rather than in. Hope this helps.

Could be, but not necessarily. Go see your doctor.

It could be, there are many. It takes a doctor reading and lab tests.
