im 13 i do not smoke but my parents do i have a slight wheeze most of the time occasionally it feels like i cant draw a full breath and i get out of breath pretty easily im not fat sometimes my cuest hurts a little Sounds like you have asthma to me. I certainly can't diagnose you online but you're describing a textbook example of a patient presenting with Asthma. Wheezing and shortness of breath, in an otherwise healthy adolescent, strongly suggest onset of Asthma...especially if you also have a productive cough (coughing up mucous). To be definitively diagnosed you need to go to see a MD. The exam would typically consist of the doc listening to your lungs (with a stethoscope) while you breathe. He may do some percussion around your lungs, although that isn't really seen as a definitive diagnostic criteria. The doc will most likely also take a blood sample where they will be looking for a variety of different "markers" that indicate asthma (..Charcot-leyden crystals, Curschmann spirals). If those are present then you have asthma. |
