Information about Feline Asthma? |
Does anyone have a kitty with asthma? If so, how long have they had it? How did they diagnose it? How often do they have attacks? How is it managed? What is the yearly cost of an asthma kitty? Are they healthy or do they struggle? Any additional information I should know. We have a severe asthmatic cat. She's fine now and on inhaled meds. I won't lie to you though, her treatments are not cheap. BUT... she would be dead with out them so she's worth it. We make sacrifices so she can have her meds. Start up for inhaled meds was about $400.00 and it's $67.00 per month now for her Flovent. I have a black domestic short hair male cat. He's almost 3. He has asthma and it hasn't cost me much money. I had x-rays done on his lungs and they diagnosed him with asthma. We changed our litter to World's Best Cat Litter to reduce dust that irritated his respiratory system and caused him to wheeze. Whenever he has attacks, we feed him a few hairball treats and that calms him down. First i need to know what symptoms your "Kitteh" has so just contact me ok. |

I would go to your Dr. to find out whats going on. I have year around allergies and its no fun. I use an inhaler when my breathing is hard to breathe. I also take allergy pills when needed especia... Sounds like you have asthma to me. I certainly can't diagnose you online but you're describing a textbook example of a patient presenting with Asthma. Wheezing and shortness of breath, ... Normally with asthma you get wheazing and are unable to get air OUT. I would think it sounds like a circulatory issues. I would get it checked out by the doc. ...Don't self-diagnose, you'll just probably be wrong. It could be asthma but it could be something else.
