when I had noght cough for continuously for four days doctor diagnoised that I have B. asthma. I took the vetolin and symbicort turbuhaler for one month. Again in the month of aug 2006 I took the short course of same medicine. third time in the month of Nov 2006 i had a asthma attack,. after this doctor prescribed me prednisolone for three weeks ( 4tab,3 tab,2tab.,1tab in decreasing doses) plus symbicort one puff twice and ventolin as needed. I suffer much when I come in contact with smokers and dust in a room, & vehicle smoke less extent. I do not have wheezing but do feel some time breathing problem. As I have a job where I have to sit in for meeting where many of the staff including managemnent does not have any policy for no smoking. Kindly a clear me what long term side effects of Symbicort , ventolin, & oral cortestorids. Is it will effect me in my work as I am in welding inspection. Is it will effect me to get Job abroad. how much it will effect me if I have to work in smoking
You need to use your Ventolin for relief of symptoms and another i use asmacorte or becloforte as a preventer, don't just take it for a few days at a time, this is a lifetime thing! When using any inhaler always brush and or rinse your mouth out as using them and steroids can cause oral thrush. Prednisolone is great for when you have a bad bout of asthma and should be taken as directed by your Dr and not used long term as it can cause high blood pressure, heart problems, high cholesterol, thinning of the skin, mood swings. The smoking will more than likely cause an attack, i always ask people not to smoke round me, not sure if you can do that with the people you work with. If you follow and keep up your asthma treatment yes you can live a normal life, i have been asthmatic since i was 1 year old, i am now 40. I do sports, had children, travel, live a normal life. You be in control of the asthma, not the asthma in control of you! have u heard about aerobic oxygen? this is a wonderful product for respiratory problems. I have tried this on my sons & it works. maybe u shld try it too. From what i know it is a canadian product.
