What happens when a 1 year old child has asthma attach. What should the doc do to keep this child alive? |
I had a one year old cousin who died this weekend from an asthma attach? Well at least this is what the doctors said, but come to find out she was giving the wrong machine which cause her heart to stop. Why do these doctors keep pumping everyone up with drugs when they have no idea what they are doing? My son has asthma so I know how you feel, but without seeing the medical records, I can't really say. It's been my experience, with working for a lawyer and having RN's in my family assist me with medical reports for possible malpractice cases, that 9 times out of 10, it is usually not as simple as it seems. We once had a situation where a 2 year-old died in what sounds just like your story. It turned out that when we got the autopsy report, the child had been born with very bad congenital defects (internal organs), and he was lucky to have lived as long as he did. Other than the asthma, there was never any reason to suspect anything was wrong with him. The family was very upset and did not want to hear that we could not sue the doctor, but it wasn't malpractice in that case. The child had been living on borrowed time. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a catch-all testing of newborns that can find everything that might be wrong. These things happen more often than people know with toddlers. It can take several years before anything appears to be wrong. I also have a very close friend who lost a child in a similiar fashion. It's heartbreaking. If you really think the doctor did something horribly wrong, you should have the parents gather all the child's medical records, from birth to death, and talk to a lawyer. But you might want to wait for the autopsy results first. My prayers are with you and your family! there are baby inhalers that the parent has to use on the child at regular times each day=the baby should have been in hospital ,using the machine first =they can sue the Dr for that as long as they haven't signed anything for the medicine machine and inhaler |
