Does anyone have experience of whether ionisers work for asthma or migraines? |
Does anyone have experience of whether ionisers work for asthma or migraines? I know my daughter tried an ionizer for both migraines and asthma but it didn't work for either condition. She does now use Feverfew for her migraines and this herb has helped greatly. Also, for the asthma, slippery elm and licorice root seem to help. What seems to help for both conditions, too is sitting in a steamy shower in the bathroom. The hot steam eases both the blood vessels in the brain and the bronchules in the lungs. Before you try any alternative/herbal program, ask your alternative medicine practitioner. Often alternative routes work BETTER than conventional medicine without the side effects! Good luck, dear...my positive thoughts and prayers are with you. Source(s): 49 years of life and alternative medicine experience. An ionizer may have some impact on asthma, but only only minimal. As far as migraines, the only real help is knowing the triggers and avoiding or counteracting if possible. As stated above fever-few can help some migraines. Other items that can help some is: - Lavender - Yerba Mate instead of caffeine - Using sunglasses, especially on hazy days I heard somewhere recently than ionizers might increase the percent of ozone in the air which can cause damage to the lungs and breathing problems for asthmatics. I'd recommend using a Hepa filter and don't bother with the ionizers. Caffeine helps mild migraines. Check with the folks at your local health food store. A person brings her ionic foot bath to a local store once every week or two, and people sign up for treatments. Beats the heck out of buying one and finding it doesn't work for you!
