I quit my job because my supervisor kept changing my shifts from days to midnights ,i have asthma, didn't care

i tried to tell her it makes me sick to work different shifts every week, i asked if she could rotate these midnight shifts with everyone in our department she refused. i got called in the administration office for having a poor attitude i explained to them and they refused to change it, told me i could leave if i didn't like it i have worked at this facility for a total of 23 years. please help me

Soundsl like they were trying to force you out.... could you of gotten a dr's note saying why you can't easily or quickly change your shifts around? I just "love" bosses who make our lives "ellasious, like we have no need for routine or a bit of life outside of the job.
Try a compromise, do a week of nights, then a week of days. It's the stress from frequently changing shifts that will bother you most. I would think working nights would help your asthma as the air is calmer at night. But stress from changing shifts and worrying about it can stress you out. Some people are just not night people, regardless of asthma. After 23 yrs, you would think they would work with you to keep you around.
worked nights for past 5 yrs
Linda, you have a case. What you need actually more important than ever, is RESOLVE. Once you have made a decision, to not put up with the job, then and if they have given you this alternate, you must write a letter explaining to your bosses everything, indicate that you are sincere in your health request, and that they should please reply and let her know. Most probably that will throw a scare into them, and solve your case, but just in case they call you for an interview, it will be merely to ask you what is the meaning of this letter. Linda, dont be arrogant and reply just tell them yopu need their reply, to satisfy either your uncle, Father, etc, who refuses to believe what you told them. Also that your Parent is living out of this city. If they tell you okay we will email you, say NO, need a reply which could be forwarded by mail, as your parent does not have a computer and is sick.

Next step, IF, they reply, take that letter to the Labour Board, with a copy to the Ministry of Health, and a copy indicating =c.c. Prime Ministers Office. That will do the trick for you- But of course, you will have to let them fire you from your job- DONT, PLEASE DONT RESIGN, YOUR POST.
Rest of the procedures will fall into place, and you will be advised what to do next. Good Luck.
