Joining The Army and Asthma?

I'm 20 and I've been thinking about a career in the army. I don't want to serve as support or Intel. I was thinking about maybe going in as an 18x (Special forces) or as a 11x option 40, which if I'm not mistaken is infantry w/ a chance at the RIP.

My question is will my "asthma" instantly DQ me from the advanced schools. I don't know when i was diagnosed it was around age 12-13 (I know this makes a big difference seeing as 13 is the cut off age, so if you could answer for both scenarios.) I've never had an asthma attack, never even used the inhalers they prescribed me , point is I don't have asthma. I probably never did have it but my mom took me to a doc who told her what she wanted to hear at the time.

Will this DQ me from special forces? ranger school? basic infantry? Can I get a doctors note saying that I no longer have asthma? or one that I never did have asthma? or am I SOL?

I have a meeting with a recruiter set up in two days, to clear all this up but I want to go in as prepared as possible.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

the recruiters will tell you to not say anything but the doctors at MEPS will try to intimidate you....DONT SAY ANYTHING...what they dont know they wont look for

Your Asthma will instantly DQ you from the Military (any branch) period

If you were diagnosed with asthma after the age of 12

links showing medical DQ and medical questions they will ask about your medical history

With it being so close to the age you might be able to get a waiver as long as you can get all your medical history that shows you never had any attack in your entire life but that is a HUGE maybe

If I were you I just wouldn't say anything about it if it has never bothered you, before they made this age 12 rule it was ever period

I had it when I was a child and told my recruiter he says does it bother you anymore I said no not for a long time so he told me just don't tell them

Never did and honorably separated from the USAF this past November after 6 years and a 11 month extension
