In regards to my son having asthma, and he is stuck in processing in the army?

my son who has had asthma all his life was told by the recruiter not to tell that he has asthma, when he got to processing, when he got there, they asked everyone to tell what the recruiter told them not to tell far as their medical condions, cause two people had died cause they did not tell. my son told that he has asthma, and he was reviewed by the doctors and specialist and found out that he has the lung capacity of a three,which is pretty low, and which you need a seven or eight to stay in the army, in order to go to basic training. And he was told that if he could not go to basic training or he could die, so he is on a do not ship list. He has signed the papers that he has to go home, and they are no longer responsible for him if anything happened to him in regards to his asthma, now he is waiting for his stop pay and then something else. why can't they just send him home. now he is telling us, that other civilian who have previously gotten in trouble are going around starting fights to make other civilian, who can go home too stay longer also, as punishment. I wrote to my congressman about the situation, cause they should just let him come home. And then he was lied to in order to get to processing, they told him that he would be blacklisted, and that he could never get a job, go to school, or if you get stopped by the police, that they will arrest him if he did not go. I need some suggestions on how to get my son home if any way possible.

There is nothing you can do. he is an adult and he needs to take care of this himself. it doesn't matter what his recruiter "told" him to do. He knew better than to lie. It's called integrity. I'm sure he knew he had Asthma before he went to see an an Army recruiter and I'm sure he knew Asthma is automatic DQ. He LIED himself so the consequences are all his own.

He Will not be blacklisted or stopped by the police. If he is lucky he will get an Entry Level Separation which means it's like he never went to Bootcamp. Of Course, the could possible give him a Fraudulent Enlistment discharge and that will follow him.

if he lied and told them he didn't and then later on told them he did he is lucky hes not in trouble, the only thing i can say is he did it to him self. sorry to sound rude but that's how it is, the recruiters will get in trouble if they told someone to lie but that's about all you can do.....

he was told to keep his mouth shut, and he didnt, they always do that whole, we know your recruiter lied crap, does he have a inhaler? if not he needs to suck it up, and your congressman dont care, im sorry but they do what they want, they dont care some kid opened his mouth...

You should contact your congress men and or senator they can help you to the right people to contact. also contact the Red Cross they also may be able to help you.

Why are you trying to take care of his problems for him? If he is used to being babied he doesn't belong in the Military. Leave him be.
