Please help ladies..ever experience bacterial vaginosis?

a few weeks ago I had bv, and was treated for it with that nasty tasting medicine, so me and my fiance discontinued sex while I was on it. As soon as I got off, I start using the bathroom a lot again, and the left side of my vulva and left labia was irritated, and then I thought I experienced a yeast infection. A lump appeard on my groin which I've had b4 3 years ago even when I wasn't sexually active. My fiance and I r clean. Anyway, during this problem, the itching and burning left, but the frequent urination stayed. come to find out, the medicine didn't get all of the bacteria out. So instead my college nurse has put me on a cream instead of the pills because of how sick they made me. She said that I had protein in my urine because of the bv. Has anyone ever had this bv b4? Looks like this is something I might have to live with, because this didn't start happening until my fiance & I started having sex. I was recommended rephresh. I just want to know ur stories & how u deal with it

hopefully this is the last time I have to take medicine for this (even tho it's only the second time) but this frequent urination is getting on my nerves. I had no idea u can urinate a lot from a vaginal infection

You may be allergic to your boyfriends sperm... I've had some slight irritation with a former boyfriend, nothing to your extent, but it's very possible.

to me ( I'm not a doctor or anything) it sounds like u may have a urinary tract infection, I have had it before and those sound like the symptoms

is your fiance uncircumcised? I dated this guy who was uncir and i got them constantly. we had to start using condoms.

NO, something that you should not live with. You boyfriend should be treated the same time as you. Condoms or spermacide always give me one. I'm really sensitive. IUD's and diaphrams can cause them too. Yuck!

It's a real common vaginal infection in women.
"BV is not completely understood by scientists, and the best ways to prevent it are unknown. However, it is known that BV is associated with having a new sex partner or having multiple sex partners. It is seldom found in women who have never had intercourse.

The following basic prevention steps can help reduce the risk of upsetting the natural balance of bacteria in the vagina and developing BV:

Limit the number of sex partners.

Do not douche.

Using an intrauterine device (IUD) for contraception.

Use all of the medicine prescribed for treatment of BV, even if the signs and symptoms go away."

I suspect cotton panties would help, as well
