Is there a natural bacterial vaginosis remedy??? |
I have read many many posts on line, and I have looked online all night... for about 2 months I have had a BAD case of the fishy smell mainly after sex and my husband asked me to fix it LOL... it's horrible and I don't do antibiotics... SO I see very expensive pills for sale and some creams, it seems there should be a more realistic approach and cost friendly... so far I am considering taking a multivitamin that has probiotics in it along with acidolpholus (sp) sorry... and what I am not sure about is what to put inside considering peroxide or garlic oil from what I have read... maybe yogurt??? also I have an active sex life with my husband, so should I take a shower after sex at night and then do the treatments? Also don't want to sound retarded, but I didn't have a mom to teach me these things, I'm 29... should I not use soap inside? Since I have had this awful smell I have been washing...??? Advise PLEASE my poor husband!!! It's so embarrassing... Thanks! It's hard to find en You don't want to put peroxide inside of you. It can irritate the skin. And soap is bad too. Best bet is to only use water while cleaning your vagina. And don't clean it inside - it cleans itself naturally. Putting foreign things inside can cause for infections. sorry the only thing I can say is maybe go see a doctor. Plain non flavored yogurt dip into a tampoon and wear. Also use some of that Summer's Eve Feminine wash that is safe to use near that area. Do not put anything like soap up inside unless you want some irritation and possible infection. Yogurt is very good for this. Honestly, you need to see a doctor!! The bacterial type cannot be treated with Vagisil/Monistat/other OTC remedies. I think yogurt helps, but you need to see a doctor!! You will only be on the medicine for about 2 weeks I think, but it's the only way I know of. I got a bacterial infection and the medicine prescribed the doctor made me feel sick and I stopped taking it and tried other methods for a few days, but ended up going back to the meds and taking them with food to avoid feeling nauseous. It was the only thing that worked and I strongly advise you to see a doctor. There are so many things you can do! Antibiotics might help for a short time (though they don't help me at all), the problem will keep coming back. Your best bet is to try to get back in balance yourself. Yogurt douches are supposed to be great as well as hydrogen peroxide. Some women do both, alternating one in the morning and the other in the evening. It's important to take probiotics and watch what you eat while trying to treat it. The most obvious sign of bacterial vaginosis infection is an unpleasant foul, often fishy odor. Itching and/or burning sometimes accompany bacterial infections, but are not a required symptom for a diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis. |
