1st trimester bacterial vaginosis? Please help-- Scared!? |
Hi all, I have had bacterial vaginosis twice during my current pregnancy. The OB/GYN said it's a side effect of pregnancy. The first time I had a clindamycin suppository and the second time they treated with oral medication. I haven't had any problems. If you leave the infection untreated, you can have problems. Im sure if it weren't safe for you to take this medication the doctor wouldn't have prescribed it to you. I dont think you have anything to worry about. Congrats!! Bacterial Vaginosis is common in pregnancies which is one of the reasons they do a pelvic exam. The prescribed meds are fine as long as they know that you are pregnant. I just found out today that I have BV too, and I am 10 weeks today. I was also prescribed clindamycin. |
