Bacterial Vaginosis issue? |
I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis a month or two ago when I went in for a pap smear. I took the prescribed course of metro gel but I STILL have it, or maybe it just came right back. I called my doctor and she prescribed me oral meds this time. Has anyone had trouble getting rid of vaginosis? I've had it before too and it took forever to go away. Help! Yes, I had the same thing happen to me before and I am still dealing with it. It is horrible! It does come back very easily and takes a while to go away (that is if you get an effective medicine). My doctor said yogurt is supposed to promote healthy bacteria there somehow--I hate yogurt though. I would suggest going back to the doctor and getting a different treatment. Refrain from sex if possible and have your partner treated too. Make sure to drink plenty of water, cranberry juice, and (yuck) eat plenty of yogurt. Good luck! I know how bad it is! I had this problem, and I'm sure in a few months i'll have it again! BV is something that seems to become very recurrent once you get it the first time! THe first time I got the gel, the second time I got the pills, and those seemed to worked wonders for me.....until I got it again. So, eat yogurt, drink cranberry juice, and keep going to the gyno until they have it under control. My girlfriend did. Actually she still has a little bit left. She went to the health department about a month ago and got oral antibiotics for it and it helped a little bit but it was only enough for a week and she still has a little left but not bad like she did, so yeah she's still havin some trouble with it but not like she did, Im convinced if she got about a two week dose she could completely get rid of it. |
