Is BV (bacterial vaginosis) something I need to schedule an emergency appointment for?

Is BV (bacterial vaginosis) something I need to schedule an emergency appointment for?
I'm scared about it spreading, and not sure how long I may have had this, and reading all these medical websites makes me nervous and makes me think I have something else. I've had the same partner for the last 6 years, and tht's the only partner.

My doctor can't see me for another 11 days, is that too long?

Does it ever go away on it's own? How do you know it really went away and just isn't laying around in there?

I am sooooo worried, and just want to know how much longer I can do without treatment?

You will be OK. I've had BV and have had to wait a couple weeks to get in. The only danger is if you are untreated for a considerable time like months or years--then there is danger of reproductive damage. Internet info always has a way of making everything sound life-threatening.
It doesn't go away by itself, sux, huh? I am always given antibiotics for it. It is so itchy and smelly that it is pretty obvious when it hasn't gone away.
I've been married for ten years and still get it. It's not and STD, it's just another fun thing that comes with being female <g>.

go to your gynecologist.

i wouldnt wait that long--see if it is a serious case.

i have no idea about the intensity of your situation or this bacterial infection.

but its your body and i would be concerned.

is it causeing you discomfort or pain? then i would request immidiate action--go to a different doctor or tell your doctor you need assistance now and if he not provide it then have him direct you to someone who can...

ask you doctor the emergency in this condition as well.

Your fine. Yes its somthing your doctor will give you anitbiotics for but its not somthing that is going to kill you. It can spread to your uterus but agian antibiotics clear it right up. I get them all the time and I couldn't figure out why and my doctors (because I recieved several opinions.) said some people are just more prone to getting them. Turns out my body wasn't responding to the antibiotics and yes your body can fix itself, its a result of a simple ph imbalance. My doctor prescribed an over the counter option called replens which would help me get back to my normal ph.
so stop worrying ok.
