Bacterial vaginosis question.. please help me!!!!!?

ok i had sex for the second time with this guy, and now i have bacterial vaginosis.. could he have given it to me? because i have never ever had any problems in the below the belt area.. and then the next day after having sex with him i get it.. also, if i have it now, will i get it again once it has cleared up and i have sex with him again? oh and when i went to to gyno to get antibiotics, she said it looked like i had a rug burn inside my vagina during the examination.. it doesn't really hurt down there, i have just slight discomfort, but will it hurt when i have sex again?
thanks!! serious answers please =)

No doubt BV is a pain in the *** to deal with...but you could have got it a number of ways. Since it occurred after sex with him, you probably got it because your body was not use to the bacteria from his body. Not saying he doesn't have good hygiene, whether he does or doesn't, your body just isn't accustom to it yet. Unfortunately, once you get BV, the likelihood of getting it again is increased, so you just have to be a little more cautious. Its always a good idea to urinate after having sex, just to flush anything around that area out. BV isn't something that this guy carries, your vagina just got a little infection. And the reason it looks like a rug burn in there is probably because BV causes inflammation in your vagina...and if you used a condom, that may have lead to inflammation. And if you did not use a condom, and he came in you, his ejaculation may have thrown off your vaginal pH, which can cause BV and a yeast infection as well.

BV is the most common infection in females, so don't worry too much. It occurs when a normal balance of bacteria in the vagina is disrupted and replaced by an overgrowth of certain bacteria. The best way to protect against BV while having sex is a condom and lube. So have fun and be safe!! Hope this helps!

P.S. Once the BV has cleared up, it won't hurt to have sex.

Vaginosis is not an STD, it's a normal infection that many women get. Your body, for whatever reason, couldn't rid itself of some bad bacteria.

I'd suggest you have him shower BEFORE you have sex (like right before). That way you can figure out if it's from him being slightly unclean or not. Many times that's the issue. If you use condoms, you could be slightly allergic to them.

I totally agree with Natasha A. take it from someone that has suffered from them many many times!
