Bacterial-Vaginosis HOW can i?

keep it at bay?!

Yogurt helps get rid of yeast infections. It will only make your BV worse. Cranberry, though it is very good for your bladder will do nothing for your BV. There is a delicate balance in your system of yeast and bacteria. When you have too much bacteria you develop BV. You can try using an anti-bacterial soap down there and it may restore the balance. Or you can ask your gyno for meds.

You can try the health food store if you are more interested in natural cures.

Good luck.

I want to verify that I meant to just clean yourself with the soap, not use it like a douche. And DO NOT DOUCHE!!! EVER!!! That kills the balance down there as well.
I heard from a few different sources that it helps to drink cranberry juice.
Insert some plain yogurt into the opening, by the next day, your bacterial balance will be restored and the smell will be gone. Make sure you use yogurt with a live bacteria culture.
See your doctor and get the correct prescription. You may also want to consider the amount of sugars and yeast based foods in your system. Not to sound gross but I have noticed that when the area is trimmed down there, the likelyhood that I get one is very rare now. You may also want to look at the type of garments that you are wearing are you wearing somthign that is allowing you to breath. It is like your armpits, bacteria + warm moist = smell.....

I would make sure that you clean everything. I would not go crazy even using soap use a warm wash cloth with nothing on it and cleanse the area.
