Recurrent Bacterial Vaginosis? Help please!?

I've suffered from this on and off for a year. It always comes back within 2-3 months. I've tried both oral and vaginal gel metronidazole. I do not douche or use products down there, i've switched to waxing instead of hair removal cream. I also have the same partner as i've had for years. Its a bit daunting that it doesn't seem to want to go away and it feels like i'll have this for the rest of my life.

Does anyone know of any other tips on getting rid of this for good?
Are there any supplements i should be taking?
Also what is the longest anyone has suffered from this?
Please any help or tips are greatly needed!

It may be resistant to Flagyl (metronidazole). If it happens again ask fro a different antibiotic and ask the doctor to do a swab for culture and sensitivity. This will make sure you get a drug which will kill the germs off properly.
i had the same problem i just stopped wearing thongs/g-strings etc and went to normal knickers or lady boxers and don't wear tight jeans or trousers and this can cause it {on my doctors advice.
If you're talking about thrush then check whether you are on the pill as sometimes this can affect it, in which case talk to your doctor and move onto another one. Or if it keeps recurring more than 4 times a year, get tested for diabetes. I'm sure it isn't anything drastic as that and probably something minor such as tight underwear etc...Try see if cutting down sugar helps and try using a shower gel specially formulated for women's intimate areas as certain fragrances/bubble baths might affect matters. You could also try using the capsules you can get for use overnight use as well for this condition. They are meant to be good. Hope you feel better soon.
I had the same problem. My doctor told me to go to a herbal store and buy a bottle of tea tree oil. put it on a tampon and do this about once a month. She said to only leave it in for an about an hour, no more than two hours
