The doctor said that I have bacterial vaginosis. can my boyfriend get gonorrhea from me having BV? or any..... |
type of STD? no BV isn't an STD. If he got Gonorrhea, he had to have gotten it from someone who has it. NO. BV is not a STD. Uh, bacterial vaginosis is NOT and STD. It's just an infection. To get gonorrhea (or any other STD) your partner has to HAVE that STD to be able to pass it. Here's everything you need to know about what you have: http://www.cdc.gov/std/bv/stdfact-bacter... And please.....just wait until your infection has cleared up before you have sex again. Nasty to have sex with an infection. FDA researcher bacterial vaganosis is just a yeast infection. and no you should not have sex until its treated. BV is an imbalance in the normal bacterial growth of the vagina. Gonorrhea and other STD's are specific viruses/bacteria so no. BUT having sex without a condom may cause the BV to not clear up as expected or as quickly as it could. Absolutely not. But, it is best if you don't have sex until you finish your antibiotics and the infection is cleared up. BV is caused when the natural balance of naturally occurring bacteria and yeast is disrupted -- sometimes by hormones, sometimes by sex, sometimes just from sweating too much on a hot day. Anyway, the result is that one bacteria overgrows and causes an infection. Usually, the organism that causes this infection is called Gardnerella vaginalis. You shouldn't have sex because sometimes intercourse affects your natural pH, and can affect the efficiency of the antibiotics that your doctor prescribed. Also, if you have sex while you're taking antibiotics, you're more likely to develop a vaginal yeast infection ... and you don't want to get rid of one icky just to have another! Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Syphilis are all bacterial STD's, but each one is caused by a specific bacteria that has no relation at all to BV. Also, considering that Gardnerella doesn't thrive in environment of the male urethra, your boyfriend has nothing to worry about. Hope this information helped! |
