How do you treat bacterial vaginosis without a doctor? |
I've had this going on for a while now and went to the doctor about it a few months ago. She gave me medicine to take for about a week and then it went away. It was gone for about a week and then came back! I've taken this medicine twice now and both times it has come back. How can I permanently get rid of it? It's extremely annoying and embarassing. I do not douche and never have in my life. Would using certain body washes make it occur? I am currently using Oil of Olay creme ribbons. Should I switch? Switch to a feminine wash that has no soap and no fragrance. Using soap or a creamy wash is bad for some women who are specifically sensitive to it. Fragrance can cause problems for you too. See your doctor again as well. Explain that while the medication helps the infection go away, it doesn't stay gone. This could indicate a pH problem. There are no real home remedies for BV like there are for yeast. go back to the doctor or see another for a second opinion giving all the details. it may be something different. If you are always using condoms I don't think that he would be passing it back to you. Usually, BV is not transmitted from the male, especially since you are using condoms. BV can re-occur if the vagina gets an imbalance in the bacteria. If you are douching on a regular basis, this can upset the healthy balance and allow BV to develop. |
