Biofeedback and Epilepsy? |
I want to try biofeedback as sort of a backup for my epilepsy. I am currently well controlled with medication but I don't think an additional solution would hurt, However I'm not sure where to begin. My doctor dismisses my requests and I can't find any neurologists who practice this. I'm in TN. Who do I have to see or where do i have to go to start biofeedback? Also, if you are epileptic and have tried this, I would like to know the results. My daughter was having 80-100 absent seizures a day and also had prolonged grandmal seizures. She began neurofeedback (different than biofeedback) over a year ago. She no longer has absent seizures. The lady who did this was an LPC and offered to provide services pro bono. You might want to look at neurofeedback as another alternative. This has been very beneficial for my daughter especially since she has refractory epilepsy. It's alot less intrusive than surgery. She continues to have grandmal seizures, but instead of lasting 15 minutes, they only last about a minute. Hope this helps. |
