Does neurofeedback (EEG biofeedback) actually work?
I have Tourette's Syndrome, Attention Defecit Hyperactive Disorder, Obsesive Compulsive Disorder, and Insomnia. I have been doing biofeedback for about 2 and a half years now. The effects of certain treatments seem to work for some disorders, and not for others. Even then, It is hard to say weather or not the current treatment is working. The symptoms of most disorders treated by biofeedback naturally wax and wain, which makes it hard to tell weather or not the EEG is really having any effect on the current problem. When I look at the overall symptoms of my current disorders treated by biofeedback, I do see a change in the severity of my disorders. Sometimes this change is very noticable, and sometimes the change is very miniscule. In addition, Biofeedback doesn't work for everybody, so I recomend making your decision to use biofeedback based on weather or not you want to spend that much money. I hope this was helpful.
