For a sober person in remission from bipolar disorder, would drinking alcohol cause a bipolar episode? Having an alcoholic beverage would not necessarily trigger a bi-polar event (either mania or depression) in and of itself. It's probably OK to have wine with dinner, for instance. But, a bi-polar that gets plowed is just asking for trouble. Any anti-depressant medication mixed with large amounts of alcohol could cause big problems. If I were bi-polar, I would avoid alcohol all together. It's just not worth it. Be a hero and be the designated driver instead. Maybe. Alcohol is a depressant. Yes! Stay away from alcohol. i think drink is one of the worst things you can do/ and i think yes it can lack of sleep drinking and bi polar are very depressing and dangersou and drink alone is bad too alcohol and bipolar meds do NOT mix It depends on the person and how serious their Bipolar is. I have Bipolar, was diagnosed at 11, and drinking doesn't cause me to have 'episodes'... But it can. It really depends, as I said, on the person. a lot of bipolar do like to drink i say don't do it |
