Is it OCD, depression, or bipolar Disorder? |
I have this obsession with my looks that makes me think that I'm so ugly, I will get dumped at anytime no matter how good the guy is to me. I'm obsessed with getting money for surgey. I dream of winning the lottery so I can fix myself and it consumes my whole day from wakeing till sleeping. I'm convinced that my many flaws will make a guy lose interest in me at any moment. It is to the point that Im not sure I even want to be in a serious relationship because the stress is too great. What should I do? I dont want to me this crazy. I don't know which of the above this is, however, it is important that you recognize that this isn't healthy. I recommend some counseling. If you go to a church, they might be able to provide something very cheap and helpful to you. I sometimes feel a little of what you describe, however, it is different for me because I am a guy and society doesn't place as much weight on my looks. It is important to recognize that society determines what is and what isn't pretty. Society is often wrong. Although many men would say otherwise, inner beauty is more attractive in a long term relationship than outer beauty. My recommendation is to work on your inner self first. Once you feel good about yourself, then if you still want to change the way you look, go for it. But without good self respect, it won't matter what surgery you have. Good luck and God Bless! See a therapist. experience seek counseling, it sounds like you suffer from self esteem issues. OCD definately, my brother had to have five years of meds for that. It sounds like you have low self-esteem, dear. But, it sounds like it has gone too far. My advice? Go to your doctor and get some help. Reach out to your family/friends so that they can help you cope. Its none of those....you just need some encouraging words regarding the way you look. Accept only those people who accept th eway you are....and you're definitly not ugly |
