How do you snap out of Bipolar Disorder?

How do you snap out of Bipolar Disorder?

once you are diagnosed with bipolar, you are pretty much stuck with it for life. the mood swings can be controlled my medication, and a diet/lifestyle change, but it is not something that can be jsut switched off. i cant understand how people can think having a mental illness is a choice....
Some people go into remission and stop having symptoms, but there's no way to guarantee when that's going to happen.
DSM-IV
You don't snap out of it. You deal with it by taking medication.
that's a mistake people make about psychiatric disorders;it's all in someone's head. honestly,if it were, people wouldn't know about someone's thinking being off and people wouldn't research to make newer and better medications. it's treated with medication and the problem is corrected.
You do not snap out of manic depression. That is like asking someone to snap out of diabetes.
Medication and counseling are necessary to keep symptoms from getting out of control.
