I dont know the exact percentage but do know that it is very common. My wife has it, her 2 brothers had it, her mom has it, my mom has it, her 2 sisters have it, her grandma had it
(it is hereditary)
according to the briefs my husband recisves approx. %30 of all americans suffer from this disorder. This is not including ones that won't be tested.

Its highly overdiagnosed. Only about 2% of the population actually has bipolar disorder.
