Has anyone here been hospitalized for Bipolar Disorder? Did it help? |
I've been hospitalized twice. The fist time I was in for a month and it did wonders. Then last year I was hospitalized again and it set me back into depression. Unfortunately it doesn't work for everyone. Yes, I've been hospitalized twice for bi-polar psychosis. It helped both times. (In between, I had gone off the medication.) I wasn't but a close friend was three times. (Ages 16, 20ish and 22ish). She is 34 now and better, though I don't know if it was the hospitalization that helped, the meds or something else. I do know she's better. I would think hospitalization would be somewhat of a last resort and if you're considering it you must have tried everything else. If nothing else has worked, why not give it a try? Good luck. My dad was a few years ago, and he was better for quite awhile. He took medication for it for four years. However, now he's taking a medication that isn't supposed to be used with people who are bipolar, and he refuses to tell his doctor that he has it and claims he was "misdiagnosed" without any medical support, so I'm kind of thinking it will lead down a trail of destruction. I was hospotalized 3 times last year and the first time helped me too, but only for a week then i slipped backinto my moods again. The next 2 times just depressed me also yes and i am here if u need a friend dogmicjoe@yahoo.com. it did help a bit cuz moms was there. i can offer you tips on how to get better. contact me. |
