Can I think my way out of bipolar disorder? |
My psychiatrist says I have it, but I never have decreased need for sleep, very rapid speech....ok- my husband says I talk fast sometimes and I do get many ideas. I also think that I can do great things only to be let down. My expectations really bother me and especially now when I'm realizing that they only appear as a result of some stupid problem in my brain. The meds are helping with the mood part, but they are not helping with my ideas and expectations. Now that I think it's a possibility for me to be bipolar, I question every idea that comes to my mind. Is the idea rational? The crazy thing is that I am still unable to tell. I still get the same results. Please give me some therapy. Can I think my way out of this? this may sound a little different, but try and see if your regular doc will do a hormone test on you. Hormones effect us in many ways. They help us produce the brain chemicals that help us with life, including our emotions. (I learned this in biology) These hormone imbalance can effect our way of thinking. When we do not get enough exercise and sleep, our body's cannot replace what we regularly use during the day. So we have a shortage of so many things in our body. Try and get at least 8 hours of sleep and 8 glasses of water. More water if you exercise. But try and get into a regular exercise routine. This may help. These things worked for me. Good luck. I do not believe so. I have a son and daughter with bi-polar disorder. I don't think so. Bipolar is something you probably need meds for. But hey a positive attitude always can help! Let go let God. No...it's irresponsible of you to deny ro try to think your way out of it. It's a physical chemical condition...you need medication. No ifs, ands, or buts. Have it in my family, have a friend who has it, and had a friend who killed himself when he stopped his meds...after his wife divorced him. |
