How can you help a friend with bipolar disorder who still uses drugs sometimes to deal with it?

I assume you mean help this person to not use drugs? Well, there really isn't anything you can do to convince him/her not to use drugs, with the exception of trying an Intervention. If he/she is not ready to stop using, then they won't.
if you mean the friend is using drugs that were not prescribed by the doctor, then, i think the answer would be that someone with bipolar shouldn't use recreational drugs. i know a neighbor who did have bipolar and was using drugs from the streets and also drank every day (alcohol), and she is in a mental hospital now from overdoseing the medications the doctor gives should be enough for someone with bipolar. i know i witnessed her flip out from mixing all kinds of stuff, and bipolar people are similar to manic depressives, they are either reallly happy or really depressed. that's without any drugs, with doctor prescribed ones, she seemed normal, no mood swings that were noticiable, with prescription and oter drugs, and alcohol, she was wacked out all the time, throuwing things and yelling, the police and ambulance took her away.,
