How hallucinations start in an individual with bipolar disorder?

how hallucinations start in an individual with bipolar disorder? I am bipolar 2 and I wish to know whether it happens all of a sudden or just develop gradually... like small small sounds, then after few days, someone speaking etc etc...please help me! also, whether its experienced only in the night or always!!!????

I haven't hallucinated conclusively, so I can't definitively answer the question (everyone is different, so I doubt there is a definitive answer).

There is no cutoff between mania and manic psychosis, they just blur into one another. My manias tended to become obsessional - I would fix on an object or activity that would be the 'magic bullet' for all my problems, but then the more I obsessed, the more twisted my thinking became. At some point, it was possible to say that I was fully delusional, but you couldn't say 'at this point I became psychotic'

The only thing I have that could possibly be hallucinations is buzzing vibrations over my body, a little like a cell phone on vibrate. It can happen any time and all over my trunk. Not severe enough to warrant upping the dose of my antipsychotics though... Source(s): Ask at http://www.crazyboards.org
i believe most people with bipolar disorder(formerly manic depression) are or were drug users and that is what causes the hallucinations (in my opinion.do either apply to you?
In order for a person who has BiPolar to also have hallucinations there has to be a Pshycoses attached to the Bipolar Disorder. For many people have Bipolar disoders and with medication ,the most widely used Librium can lead nomal lives(but important the medication be taken as prescribed) for the Librium provides, gives balance to the brain. There is delusional thinking esp when the High polar is active for the person thinks can do all and so on. With Psychoses Hllucinations occur and they are NOT the same in every individual, there is no set pattern that applies to all. Perhaps the way you describe is how its happening with you but with someone else may see, hear someone or people or just hear voices(Hallucinations)It all depends on whats going on in your brain, your psyche, your life experiences and so on. Perhaps if you talked with your therapist- you can partake of group therapy where you'll have various people speaking of their eperience-you may find similarities and difference but it will lessen the fear concerning this. See www.bipolarworld.net its a site that deals with bipolar and psychoses Will pray for the Holy Spirit to still your fear
This is a very good blog, a beginner鈥檚 guide to abnormal psychology.
