Has anyone ever had an MRI scan for bipolar disorder?

Has anyone ever had an MRI scan for bipolar disorder?

Bipolar is getting a lot of press lately but in reality it's difficult to
diagnose. So Drs. are trying their best to rule out all the physical things your symptoms might be caused by. Once that is done then they feel they can move on to your mental health. Bipolar is tough to have and live with but it can be done. New medications are making great headway in controlling the mania attached to it. But, I have to forewarn you....most times the medication has to be fine tuned and its rare that they get it right the first time round.
It's to make sure your symptoms aren't from a tumor or seizures
MRI's are used to detect gross brain damage such as that resulting from a stroke or a tumor. MRI's can also be used to check the blood flow in the venous system by the use of "contrast"

It would be inappropriate to try and use an MRI to detect a bipolar disorder as it is not something that an MRI would be able to distinguish.
Yep...all they wanted to see if my squash was normal other wise and it was.
