My doctore has not diagnosed me with having bipolar disorder yet but he did say...?

that i had some traits of it,what does that mean that i have it but it is very mild.

There are a number of symptoms associated with bipolar disorder. In fact, there are a number of different types of bipolar disorder. So, you may have some of the symptoms, but not enough to qualify.

It's a little weird for the doctor to say that, however. You might want to spend some time with a psychologist and have her/him go through the diagnosis with you. You can do some of this yourself online, but it's very tough to diagnose yourself. You tend to over-diagnose, see yourself as worse than you are.

The important thing is, do you feel comfortable in your own skin? Can you function with relative ease and without disabling feelings? Are you depressed to the point of being unable to do anything? Do you have periods where you are so hyper you become hard to live with? If your mental health is interfering with your ability to live a happy life, then go to a counselor, psychologist, or other mental health professional and get treatment. There are medical and talk therapies that can help.
Well I got diagnosed with the same very mild there are different types of bipolar.....mild, medium and high....But I learned through being through the process....that there is acute stress that is very simular to the disorder...He cant really say you have until looking further into it. He thinks a high chance you are...if that answers anything...
it probably means you have some symptoms but not enough or not severe enough that you don't meet full criteria for a diagnosis. You could still go one meds and be in therapy to prevent full-blown bipolar from occurring.
Bipolar is a really tricky disorder to diagnose properly. I'm bipolar but after saying that it's over diagnosed. Your personality traits possibly meet some of the criteria but usually someone has to go through a full cycle to be properly diagnosed. If the doctor you're referring to is your GP then you should probably ask to be referred to a psychiatrist. You'll probably have to wait a while to see one but they know a lot more about this sort of stuff than your family doc.
