Is there anyone out there taking lithium for bipolar disorder who has also managed to lose weight?

I have gained a lot of weight while taking this medication and it is very hard to lose the weight. Has anyone taking lithium been able to successfully lose weight? How did you do it?

Have the doctor check your thyroid. There may be an issue from being on the lithium with your thyroid. Also do plenty of walking and drinking water. Good luck

I have taken lithium in the past and just started on it again but have never experienced weight gain from it. you might want to speak to Dr about the problem of weight gain
