Why do ppl who do not have bipolar disorder think "yelling" at ppl who have it...?

to take their meds is effective? It just comes off as a holier than thou, sanctimonious proclimation. It is not effective. In fact, it is insulting. Over half the ppl w/the illness take their meds religiously, lead very productive lives, and still have to put up with this crap, not to mention the stigma that comes with having a mental illness.

Does it not ever occur to you that you work with ppl with mental illnesses, live next to ppl with mental illnesses, are friends with them, have them in your families? I'm talking about the ppl that you consider normal, the ones who don't share that fact because of your prejudice.

I am Bipolar and I assume they are not listening to the fact they can't control the situation and yelling makes them feel better.

Because they don't know enough about the illness to realize that's not helping. Rather than take the time to learn they criticize someone with challenges to be more "normal" - it's the easy way out.

People like to be dramatic to get attention.
Not only do we have to put up with all different kinds of illnesses but we also have to put up with plain old a**holes.

It's life and we just have to learn to deal with people's differences. Nothing's going to change them.
