My ex has untreated bipolar disorder and moved the kids to an unsafe neighborhood. Can I get primary custody? |
The final custody hearing hasn't been scheduled. My ex moved the kids to a city that has had 22 murders of school age kids this school year (7 murders within 4 miles of their home). My ex has untreated bipolar disorder with psychotic features. I didn't know this information at the temporary hearing when my ex got primary custody. Has anyone experienced anything similar? You should let the atty./courts know that you fear for the safety of your children and that he should be placed on supervised visitation. undiagnosed means your ex doesn't have "bipolar disorder with psychotic features" - I assume you read things online and became a psychiatrist overnight. make sure your attorney knows everything about where the kids live, also make sure he knows how scared you are for your kids to being living where and with whom they are in custody of.. make sure the judge knows this too.. get all the information out about your ex and where he lives with the kids and fight for your kids to live in a safer neighborhood.. Show the judge your the better parent, make sure the attorney and the judge know of the disorder of your ex.. TAKE PICTURES OF WHERE U LIVE,TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING.. WHERE THE KIDS LIVE, THEIR LIVNG CONDITIONS, TAKE PICTURES OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD.. PICTURES ARE YOUR BEST EVIDENCE IN A COURT OF LAW.. EITHER PICTURES OR A VIDEO..CANT STRESS IT ENUFF, WHEN YOUR GOING TO COURT.. TAKE PICTURES FOR EVIDENCE.. Good Luck! Ok...first of all to the person that says she is a Family Law Attorney...if you would read more carefully you would see that he said UNTREATED bi polar disorder which means she has been diagnosed but not treated... Ask the court. Yes you can. My brother recently went through this with his daughter (my brother is bipolar). Even if he is treated, bipolar people dont always take their medication. It takes almost nothing to set a bipolar person off who is not on medication. Make sure you tell your lawyer, they will be able to get the evidence you need. No judge in their right mind would put your child in that kind of danger. |
