Is there a correlation between hypersensitivity during sexual activity and bipolar disorder? |
Sometimes when my boyfriend touches me, anywhere on my body really, I am supersensitive to it and it bothers me to where can hardly stand it. I sometimes even have convulsions where my whole body shakes. This happens more when he touches me in small repetitive motions. I also have bipolar disorder. Are these things related? I fear I didn't do a very good job explaining my problem, but if you know anything even related to this, please let me know. By the way, these symptoms usually last for about twenty four hours, and usually only once a month or so. Thanks:) Personally, I don't think it has to do with the fact that you are Bipolar. You are probably real sensitive and during acts of passion, this sensivity is increased. And if you are really into him, it the sensitivitiy would increase. It's PASSION at its best. There are no studies that have shown hypersensitivity as related to Bipolar or to the medications. Yes, anything is possible. Maybe it has more to do with medication you are taking if you are. I think so, but I can't tell you what it is. It could be mental - as in it provokes some sort of hyper-excited (I hate to use the word manic, but you hopefully know what I mean) mental state - or it's medical - as in the medicine you're on provokes this sort of hypersensitivity. In reality though it's probably some combination of both. Also, maybe you're taking other, unrelated drugs which combine with your bipolar meds to make you prone to this hypersensitivity. The only reason that I think there might be a mental component to it, in addition to whatever medical issues exist, is that, from what you said, it occurs only during sex-stuff and only when someone else is touching you. If I had to guess, I'd say whatever meds your on somehow set you up for it. Ask your doctor. Buena suerte |
