What can I do if a friend is involved with someone who is suspected of having bipolar disorder? |
What can I do if a friend is involved with someone who is suspected of having bipolar disorder? Don't do anything, unless this person is very irrational. Bipolar disorder occurs in many people and there is nothing wrong with a person that suffers from this. If their condition is severe and they aren't treated, there might be cause for concern. Otherwise treat this person as you would any other. Their thought patterns may be different , but they are people too. Let your friend know that the person is suspected of having the disorder and let the friend decide if they still want to stay with that person. Nothing much. What do you want to do??? What's wrong with having Bi-Polar??? LOL On the flip side, My husband ALWAYS says, when people talk about dating or seeing or getting involved with someone who has Bi-Polar Disorder, " RUN, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. DON'T LOOK BACK. KEEP ON RUNNING!" LOL BiPolar Mom of 3, Daughter 14, Sons 11 & 7 yrs. First, realize that bipolar disorder is not a crime, so one could hardly be a suspect. Second, realize that it's not your business, and start being a good friend. only suspected,he say she say if your friend is happy leave her alone You sound like it's a crime to be involved with someone suffering from such a disorder. There's nothing you can *do* about it. Just keep being a friend...no more, no less. |
